GREENSBURG – Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic lost his last game of the Greensburg-Salem holiday tournament, 63-51, to Greensburg-Salem in high school boys’ basketball on Thursday.

Patrick Haigh scored a high 21 points for the Marauders, and Karson Kiesewetter added 13 points for BG, who lost his first game of the season.

CHAMBERSBOURG – Tyrone’s heavyweight wrestler Braden Ewing placed third in the Trojan War tournament.

Ashton Sipes was fifth with 132.

West Perry edged Bald Eagle Area, 140-138.5, for the tag team title when Deven Jackson beat BEA’s Lucas Fye in a 5-3 decision in the 113-pound final.

Announced stars

The Heritage Conference has released its All Conference teams for its fall sports programs with Cambria Heights represented on three sports programs, as well as Portage on two programs.

The Highlanders who made the football team were Isaac Westrick, Tyler Della Valle and Ty Stockley while in volleyball Kendall Conrad made the team. In men’s cross country, Cambria Heights’ Brock Eckenrode was part of the team, while Portage was represented by Josh Canavan, Ben Sanner and Gabe Corte.

In the girls’ cross country, Zoe Adams was part of the Lady Highlanders, while Lauren Shaffer and Alex Chobany of Portage made the team.
