Catholic Charities has been present in Ulster County for over 40 years, originally under the auspices of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York and now part of the Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster.

Located in the former St. Peter’s School at 6 Adams St. in Kingston, a multipurpose center houses a pantry, children’s pantry, gym and programs including case management, food emergency and shelter support, immigration legal aid and Catholic Youth Organization Activities. It serves thousands of Ulster County residents regardless of their religious or non-religious beliefs, insurance status or ability to pay, the Chamber said.

The resort’s community center also houses the AgriBusiness Child Development Center preschool program.

Catholic Charities also operates the Ulster County Warming Center on Elmendorf Street and will partner with RUPCO and Family of Woodstock to transform the former 162-room Quality Inn motel in the city of Ulster into a living community of 81 apartments.
