“We are grateful to the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation for continuing to provide the Charity Challenge and a generous donation of $ 100,000, to help fight hunger in our communities. The Charity Challenge is a great opportunity you can use to give back and help those in need this holiday season. At CMCF we believe we are better together, working as a community during this season of giving, to really make a difference, ”said Carrie Abfalter, director of donor relations at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.
Officials say more than $ 625,000 was raised last year. According to the CMCF, the Charity Challenge has raised more than $ 4.9 million to support local food aisles.
According to a press release, the tradition has become a legacy of Norman C. Skalicky, founder and chairman of Stearns Bank. The statement said Skalicky has dedicated his life to giving back to the community and encouraging others to be philanthropic.
