McMinn County Historical Society: Will meet on Sunday, January 9 at 2 p.m. in the Blue Room of the McMinn County Courthouse. Guest speaker will be Joy Montgomery on the topic of the Hiwassee Garrison. There will also be information on the company’s upcoming move to 107 College Street. McMahan Calvary Cemetery: Located in Athens on County Road 172 (formerly Clearwater Road), needs immediate donations to continue mowing and servicing in 2021. Cemetery is maintained only by donations from families and friends. Donors should make checks payable to McMahan Calvary Cemetery Fund and mail them to Robert Guthrey, a fund trustee, at PO Box 272, Athens, TN 37371-0272.

Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Etowah: Looking for donations to keep mowing. Make checks payable to Pleasant Grove Cemetery and mail to: Karen Wear Taylor, 131 County Road 903, Etowah, TN 37331.
