Daughter of the late Charles and Roseann Schuberth, she was born March 11, 1936 in Hartford. Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack R. Fletcher; the brothers Charles and Raymond Schuberth; grandchildren Mason James and Alec Clayton. Gloria was raised and educated in Hartford. She went on to earn a degree in accountancy and was employed at G. Fox & Co. and later at Stop & Shop in Manchester, where she made many lifelong friends. Gloria was an active communicator at St. Maurice Catholic Church and loved helping organize the church’s bingo games. She also enjoyed lunches and played Mexican dominoes at the Bolton Senior Center. Gloria loved to travel to tropical places. She frequented Aruba, Bermuda and the Bahamas with her family for many memorable adventures. Other excursions included visits to local casinos with loved ones. She loved the ocean, swimming and just enjoying the sun while walking on the beach. She was a lifelong cat lover and also took great pleasure in feeding and watching her feathered friends of the yard. But her greatest love has always been family. Wonderful times were spent in “the countryside”, playing cards, singing, parading and partying. Her parents’ house on Nile Street was the center of family reunions – where all the magic happened and the fond memories were made. The bond with her sisters was unbreakable, whether they were sitting together with a cup of tea or chatting on the phone. With the many challenges and hardships she faced throughout her life, she fought to raise five strong daughters whom she loved dearly and who will forever be influenced by the woman she was. Each daughter was different, but each possessed the traits of the mother she loved so much.
Gloria is survived by all her daughters, Doreen McIntyre of Manchester, Deborah Everett and Paul Flaherty of Bloomfield, Susan Hutz of Montana, Leslie Weerden of Manchester and Dawn Howe of Mystic; his grandchildren, Devon McIntyre and Lyndsay Bissette, Molly McIntyre, Sean Kraut, Kristen Hutz, Nicole and Eric Kloehn, Jenna Weerden, Patrick and Crystal Weerden, Tyler Weerden, Aidan Violette, Madison Violette, Nicholas Dougan and Riley Howe; great-grandchildren, Avory Vitiello, River Pacitto, Anthony Uriano, Gavin Lavigne, Greyson Weerden, Brooklyn and Kennedy Kloehn, and Drew and Brady Weerden. She will be sadly missed by her siblings, Mary Haley, Anita and Dick Sullivan, Rosaleen O’Brien, Dennis and Jennifer Schuberth, Kathleen Kapji; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
