Her Majesty ‘will no longer live at Buckingham Palace’, making Windsor permanent ahead of Jubilee

Platinum Jubilee to open relations with the United States

Royal expert and former US-UK relations adviser Lee Cohen spoke to Express.co.uk about the benefits of the Platinum Jubilee on wider international relations.

Mr Cohen said it was ‘ironic’ that there were no holidays celebrating America’s history with the UK, and said the Platinum Jubilee could strengthen relations between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Cohen was asked about the benefits that can be had from the Platinum Jubilee.

He explained: “The Jubilee is an occasion to celebrate a great person and his achievements.

“But it is also a reminder to those who would forget, and those who were never taught, that as Americans our heritage, our values and our cherished freedoms were born in England and Great Britain. Brittany.

“In [the US]we celebrate Irish Pride, Puerto Rican Pride and commemorate Black History, LGBT History and many more.

“It is ironic, and perhaps telling, that there is no celebration of our English and British heritage which gave birth to our truly great and unique nation.

“I will use the Jubilee to celebrate all that the United States and the Anglosphere owe to our motherland.

“The Queen is the living embodiment, not only of this country, but she represents an era through which all of us living today have lived and are therefore the shared celebrants of her momentous birthday.”
