Thomas N. Stepanec of Lincoln, ME, formerly of New Britain and Bristol, passed away peacefully among his family on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Bangor Hospital. He was born January 24, 1964 in New Britain, CT, the son of Mykola and Genevieve (Tylka) Stepanec. Donath and Thomas Donath; three granddaughters he loved and affectionately called him Didi: Desirae Donath, Eliza Beth Donath and Faith Stepanec; two sisters, Lucy Sokolsky and her husband Orest and Elizabeth Marcello and her husband John; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thomas was predeceased by his father.
Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. When not enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his motorbike or quads, he could be found in the kitchen cooking, tinkering on one of the his many projects or immersed in a book. He was a fourth degree member of the Lincoln Chapter of the Knights of Columbus and a parishioner of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church and a former parishioner of St. Josaphat Church. Like his father, Thomas had a “zoloti ruky” and was able to fix anything and everything. Thomas was buried in the Krapf family cemetery after a Christian funeral mass on October 30. Thomas will be remembered at a memorial service according to Ukrainian Catholic tradition at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church in New Britain on December 4 at 11:00 am, followed by a celebration of his life.
