Wilmington, Del. (10/15/22) The Dominican University of New York women’s soccer team lost to the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning 3-2.

The Lady Chargers drop to 6-6-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the conference. With the win, GBC moves to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in conference.

Stella Paton (Edinburgh, Scotland) started in goal for Dominican and made four saves, but suffered the loss. Nikki Cashen recorded the win in net for the Lightning and made three saves.

Kaitlyn Zeeb (Piscataway, NJ) led the Dominican in shooting with five shots and scored one goal. Olivia Ferris (Staten Island, NY) scored the first Dominican goal. Isabelle Wysocki (Rahway, NJ) assisted the first Dominican goal and Alissa Madura (Warwick, NY) assisted second base.

Angela Lee kicked the scoring for GBC at 11:48 for the 1-0 lead. Alyssa Ruggeri recorded her first of two assists of the day.

Dominican replied after ferris scored to tie the game at the end of the first half and the two teams entered the half tied 1-1.

Just over ten minutes into the second half, GBC regained the lead after Bella Davidoski scored and Paulimar Coll provided an assist on goal.

Just over a minute later, Dominican replied again when Zeeb tied the game at 2-2 after receiving a cross pass from Madura who recorded an assist.

Angela Lee put GBC ahead again after scoring her second goal of the match and Alyssa Ruggeri added her second assist. The Lightning would hold the 3-2 lead and close out the win.

The Lady Chargers will be back at home against Georgian Court University on Friday, October 21 at 11:30 a.m.
