Leadership Louisville Center promotes, increases its leadership


LOUISVILLE, Ky.—As the Leadership Louisville Center continues to expand its programs and services, the leadership team is moving forward to lead its expansion.

Holly Prather

Holly Prather is now COO for the non-profit organization founded in 1979, assuming leadership of marketing, public relations and operations, which includes advancing strategic initiatives as well as overseeing finance, human resources and IT functions. Prather previously served as the Center’s Vice President and has been with the organization since 2009. She has helped lead the Center’s years of growth, launching new programs and offerings designed to fulfill the Center’s goal of inspiring and to equip leaders to be better and do better. Prather was instrumental in creating and launching the Center’s professional education arm and the annual Best of Leadership Summit, both important factors in the organization’s growth as a national thought leader and premier resource. order for social impact leadership.

She has served as Vice President since 2011. She began her career at the Center as Marketing and Communications Manager in 2009. Prior to joining the Leadership Louisville Center in 2009, she was the Community and Government Relations Manager for the Transit Authority of River City (TARC) in Louisville. She was also part of the public relations team at Doe Anderson, with clients in the arts, online services and financial sector.

Prather holds a master’s degree in communications from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and communications from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Aaron Miller

Aaron Miller has been promoted to vice president of the center. In this role, he will oversee all programs offered by the Center, including the five community leadership programs (Leadership Louisville, Bingham Fellows, Ignite Louisville, Focus Louisville and Encore Louisville), events and all professional training offerings. Miller was previously Director of Community Leadership and has been with the organization since 2011.

Prior to joining the Center, Miller spent 17 years in the broadcasting business as a morning radio host and director of promotions and marketing. Miller was elected to two terms as a member of the Lyndon City Council in 2002 and 2004, and he serves on the board of directors of the Lincoln Heritage Council of Boy Scouts of America, the Catholic Foundation of Louisville, and is a member of the Louisville Free Public Library Advisory Board.

“Over the past decade, the Leadership Louisville Center has grown from $1.5 million in net assets to $5.5 million. Holly’s ability to drive growth and Aaron’s expertise in our programs have been critical to our success,” said Cynthia Knapek, CEO of the Center. “We believe that leadership development can be a force for good and that with each new learner who participates in our programs, we increase our chances of effecting positive change. Aaron’s increased focus on developing new programs will allow more people to have leadership experience at Louisville Center and Holly’s operations management will accelerate our speed as a high-performance company. The center also promoted and hired new talent to deliver programs.

Lloyd Triplet

Jo Lloyd-Triplett was promoted to Senior Leadership Development Manager. With the center since 2016, Lloyd-Triplett manages the center’s programming, develops programs, and serves as program facilitator and instructor. She currently oversees the Bingham Fellows program and leads the launch of new women’s programming. The promotion reflects his leadership in growing the Ignite Louisville program and facilitating the center’s positive community impact.

Born and educated in Britain, Lloyd-Triplett holds a BA in languages ​​and economics from the University of Sheffield. She has lived since 2004 in the United States, the third country she has made her home. Prior to joining the center, she was executive director of Sister Cities of Louisville.

Nubia Bennett

Nubia Bennett was hired for a new position, DEI and Leadership Development Manager. This is a new position created in April 2022, and Bennett is responsible for program design and facilitation of programs including Leadership Louisville and Focus Louisville, as well as a new program soon to launch in collaboration with the Centre’s ERG IncLOUsion Council. Her background in diversity, equity and inclusion will further advance the Leadership Louisville Center’s focus on creating spaces where groups can have empowering conversations and drive positive community change.

Prior to joining the Leadership Louisville Center, Bennett was the program coordinator Diversity Education and Inclusive Excellence for the University of Louisville. She holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in communication from UdeL.

The Leadership Louisville Center is the region’s most valuable resource for leadership development and civic engagement. With the goal of inspiring and equipping leaders to be better and do better, it has graduated more than 10,000 through its civic programs since 1979. The Center is recognized as a national best practice and is known for its programming dynamic and strong community ties. Programming includes five community leadership programs (Leadership Louisville, Focus Louisville, Ignite Louisville, Bingham Fellows and Encore Louisville), leadership training courses presented through Leadership Green.
