MOORE – Moore Public Schools has announced the Teacher for the Year 2021-2022, each representing their current school site.

Teacher of the Year are nominated by their peers in September of each school year, and results are available in mid-fall. Each TOY school is invited to complete Part 1 of the TOY district application in October and November.

Five finalists for the MPS District TOY will be announced later, after which they will complete Part 2 of the MPS District TOY application. In April, the winner of the MPS District Teacher of the Year award is announced at the Moore Public Schools Excellence in Education annual banquet. This ceremony honors the accomplishments of each TOY at the site level and the five finalists for the TOY district.

The teachers of the year for the MPS site for 2021-2022 are:

Primary schools

  • Apple Creek: Cara Cummings, Year One
  • Briarwood: Junae Stafford, sixth year ELA
  • Broadmoore: Alicia Wilson, pre-K
  • Bryant: Jennifer Reeves, sixth grade and ELA
  • Central: Britny Cerda, sixth year sciences and humanities
  • Earlywine: McKenzie Benavides, first year
  • Eastlake: Shelby Webb, STEAM
  • Fairview: Lauren Steveerson, Grade Six Math
  • Fisher: Emily Fraire, first year
  • Heritage Trails: Ashley Wright, Music
  • Houchin: Natalie Campbell, first year
