Nancy (Di Leva) Ambrosi, 84 years old

Loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend Nancy (Di Leva) Ambrosi passed away peacefully in Eternal Life on Friday, December 24 at her daughter Christy’s home in San Pedro, California. Nancy was born to Salvatore and Maria Christina Di Leva on July 17, 1937, in San Pedro, where she grew up.

Nancy graduated from Mary Star of the Sea High School where she met the love of her life, Richard Ambrosi. They married on August 24, 1957 and raised four children. Richard and Nancy moved to Ketchum, Idaho, in 1979, where they enjoyed the outdoors and the community of a small town. She particularly liked cross-country skiing. They moved to Post Falls, Idaho, in 2002 and became active parishioners at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Most important in life to her was her Catholic faith and spending time with her family and friends (especially her grandchildren). Nancy enjoyed traveling, cooking, bowling, playing cards and meeting on Sundays with other parishioners. Over the years, Richard and Nancy have loved getting together with their friends and family to share a laughing meal.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband Richard Ambrosi, son-in-law Mario Meyers, parents, brothers and in-laws: Anthony and Louise Di Leva, Jero and Betty Di Leva, Michael Di Leva, Sal Di Meglio, Mario and Virginia Di Leva, Joseph Di Leva and Nick and Beverly Zanze. She is survived by her children Tom (Karen) Ambrosi, Rick (Noreen) Ambrosi, Vicky (John) Smoot, Christy Meyers; grandchildren Alexandra (Ryan), Will, Courtney, Katie; sister Philomena Di Meglio and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4 at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. A rosary for Nancy will be recited in church before the funeral mass. Interment will be held at the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4772 E Poleline Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854, or to a charity of your choice.
