New resource center supports students, community


Residents of Windsor’s West Side will now have access to a variety of vital resources ranging from employment counselling, job search, training programs and basic human needs services. The UHC-Hub of Opportunities recently opened a new Resource Information Center at St. Michael’s Adult Catholic High School at 477 Detroit Street.

“The Resource and Information Center will provide students and all members of the surrounding community with access to a variety of resources that will allow them to thrive as they enter the workforce,” said June Muir. , CEO of UHC – Hub of Opportunities. “We work closely with our clients to understand their realities and help them become independent.”

The Resource and Information Center will be open Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. where students and community members will have access to computers, internet, telephone, and labor market information. They will be able to work one-on-one with staff who can guide them in their career goals and provide clothing and food assistance as they transition into the workforce.
