Mary Margaret Weis, 92, of Erie died on Sunday July 3, 2022 at the Sarah Reed Senior Living Center. She was born January 11, 1930 in Erie, daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Gleeson) Weis.
Mary Margaret was a 1947 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and worked as a secretary for 45 years at the old Hammermill Paper Co. She was a longtime and active member of Mt. Calvary Catholic Church. For her many volunteer activities, both in her church and in the community, Mary Margaret was inducted in 1999 by Bishop Michael J. Murphy into the Knights and Ladies of St. Patrick.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Nancy McCallion and three brothers; Joe, Jack and Chuck Weis.
Mary Margaret is survived by one brother Jerry Weis and three sisters; Carol Allgeier (Ed), Patricia Weidner and Janet Corritore (Lee) and her sisters-in-law; Lucille Weis, Gloria Weis and Carole Weis. She also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call Quinn, West 9th & Liberty St. Funeral Home on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and are invited to attend prayer services on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of funeral at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sarah Reed Senior Living Center Activities Fund, 227 W.22nd St., Erie, PA 16502.
