THE COUNTY APPROVES THE SPEAKERS – Wise County Commissioners finalized the precinct maps for the next decade on Wednesday. After receiving no input in a public hearing, the Commissioners approved the new maps that moved the boundary between Ward 1 and 2 slightly east and all of Bridgeport Lake from Ward 2 to 4 The new constituency will come into force on January 1. The only significant change was that the population difference was between District 1, which was the largest population, and District 2, which was the smallest population, ”County Judge JD Clark said. “They were outside of the 10 percent spread that we’re allowed to have. So we had to move some of the population between those two.” Read more on the Wise County Messenger Weekend on newsstands today.
