Volunteers serve Thanksgiving meals in eastern Idaho

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) – It was a day of celebration and a day of volunteering in our area.

Volunteers helped cook and prepare meals at Holy Spirit Catholic School in Pocatello.

Organizer Allison Hinz says they served over 100 families for Thanksgiving.

“Thanksgiving is an integral part of our culture and the ability to provide meals for everyone to have something to share that day, as we are all grateful for our community and all of our many blessings, and we want to share that with everyone here in Pocatello, ”said Hinz.

The Blackfoot community has also mobilized to help our neighbors.

The Blackfoot Community Table and Community Pantry hosted a Thanksgiving meal in the cafeteria of the Blackfoot Grade 6 Complex.

“We have such a great give and give and give community, and it has been another wonderful year this year, thanks to the Blackfoot community,” said volunteer Corenna Cannon.

This wouldn’t be possible without the community volunteers, who are helping out this holiday season.

“Thanksgiving is a day when we learn to appreciate what we have, and sometimes that means realizing how much we have compared to many others,” said volunteer Chris Cannon. “Being able to serve others is a great way to say thank you.”
