Volunteers Wanted for Episcopal Thanksgiving Dinner



Catholic Charities Worcester County is looking for volunteers to deliver and serve Thanksgiving dinner to those in need on Thanksgiving Day.

Volunteers are needed for both the sit-down dinner located at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 38 High St., Worcester, and for the meal delivery from St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School. Seated Dinner volunteers should arrive between 11:30 a.m. and noon and can register online at https://www.ccworc.org/cathedralregistration. Meal delivery volunteers begin arriving at 8:00 a.m. to receive meals and delivery directions. Meal delivery volunteers should register online at https://www.ccworc.org/bishopsdinnervolunteer.

Meals will be picked up at the drive-thru at St. Peters Catholic Elementary School gymnasium, entrance at 10 Hammond St., Worcester. If you would like to request a meal, call (508) 798-0191 or visit https://form.jotform.com/222785930706159.

A tradition for more than 60 years, the Bishop’s Dinner provides a meal and fellowship for housebound elders, the disabled, the homeless and those who would otherwise be alone at Thanksgiving and at Christmas. Sit-down dinners at St. Paul’s Cathedral and home-delivered meals are available for those who need it during this important holiday. In 2021, the Bishop’s Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Dinners provided more than 6,000 meals delivered to homes to those in need by nearly 1,300 volunteers.
