POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE RUNNING: WCDSB Trustee

PAST POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: None

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO RUN?

As a working mother, I have seen the impact of school closures on children and teachers. I felt their frustrations and saw the learning loss in children. I will stand up for working children and parents who feel left behind.

WHAT ARE YOUR THREE MAIN PROBLEMS?

• Addressing learning loss and mental health with enhanced supports for our students, focused on minimizing disruption to their education

• Advocate for a strong Catholic system that embraces and celebrates our unique heritage.

• Building trust with our communities so that our WCDSB families feel heard.

IF YOU ARE ELECTED, WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR FIRST 100 DAYS?

We are now at a truly critical time for students, after more than two years of pandemic disruption that has been difficult for them and their families. I will work closely with the school board to ensure our schools have a safe and stable learning experience in 2022-23.

HOW WILL YOU EMBRACE AND PROMOTE DIVERSITY IN THIS ROLE?

With humility and grace, I pledge to champion the work of our Board of Directors to advance reconciliation. Pope Francis’ recent historic apology for the Church’s treatment of Indigenous peoples was a significant moment, but also only the first step in a journey we are on together.
