Million Minutes is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, December 7 at 7 p.m. to discuss the experiences of young women in the Catholic Church. The keynote speaker will be Sr. Gemma Simmonds CJ – with panelists Maria Yoo, Nina Mattiello Azadeh, Catherine Bridgwood and Anna Geatrell.

They will take an honest, hopeful and loving look at ways the Church could better serve young women. Speakers will explore questions such as:

– What experiences do young women bring to the Church?
– Why is ministry with young women in mind important?
– What more can the Church do to positively include young women, so that we do not lose them?

Pope Francis has frequently commented on the role of women in the Church and how crucial it is for communities to recognize each person’s experiences. In her own words, “Some young women feel that there is a lack of prominent female role models within the Church and they too wish to give their intellectual and professional gifts to the Church. (Christus Vivit, 245). We intend to use this webinar to discuss the realities young women face, areas to develop and how we are going together.

It will be a panel open and accessible to all. It will be structured with opening remarks from the nominated panelists, followed by a “closed” question-and-answer session, meaning that participants are invited to submit written questions.

The roundtable will be chaired by Million Minutes CEO Daisy Srblin.
