Gordon was the class’s third overall engagement for Oklahoma State and the first of five new verbal engagements in February alone. Product Euless (Texas) Trinity has been an absolute workhorse for the Trojans this season, playing quarterback in a read option offense for much of the season. He carried the ball 225 times for 2,376 yards and 35 touchdowns. As a passer, Gordon completed 14 of 28 attempts for 293 yards and three touchdowns. He also had six catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Gordon was one of 10 finalists for the 2021 Mr. Texas Football High School Player of the Year award.

He Ffinished his junior campaign with 2,083 yards and 28 touchdowns on 209 carries, while adding eight receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He helped the Trojans to an 11-2 overall record with a playoff quarterfinal appearance. Gordon has received several accolades for his efforts, including Texas District 3-6A First-Team Running Back, Offensive MVP, and 2020 Fort Worth Star-Telegram High School Male Athlete of the Year.

Gordon saw a massive increase in production from his sophomore season, in which he rushed for 679 yards and 11 touchdowns on 83 carries. He was the 2019 Sophomore District 3-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

247Sports assessment: Gordon is at his best when he can drop down immediately and keep his pads perpendicular to the line of scrimmage. In these scenarios, Gordon plays a puncher with very good finishing ability. Again, his initial juice through the hole and into the second tier was significantly better in 2020 compared to 2019 and likely played a major role in those stat increases, especially from a carry standpoint.

In addition to his long verified speed, Gordon can improve his fluidity and ability to redirect laterally. It gears up to change direction and sometimes bounces unnecessarily. In the mold of a big straight line buster, Gordon is best suited to go north to south as quickly as possible. He won’t often chain moves in the second tier, but he shows encouraging single-cut acceleration when needed. Gabe Brooks, 247Sports Midlands Region Recruitment Analyst
