Lakewood, NJ (10/29/22) The Dominican University of New York women’s volleyball team came up short in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action tonight to host Georgian Court University, 3-1, in a game played at the GCU Wellness Center.

The Lions improve to 10-17 overall and 6-9 in the CACC, while the Dominicans drop to 11-14 overall and 9-7 in conference.

GCU won the match in four sets by the scores of 25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21 for the 3-1 victory.

In the 25-22 third-set victory for the Chargers, the team posted their game-high .273 attacking percentage and recorded 18 kills against the Lions 12.

Second year Aliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) posted a team and career-high 13 kills, a best attacking percentage of .345 and added two assists.

Andreya Davis (Peekskill, NY) added 12 kills and a .219 attacking percentage, while senior Emmalyn Lapier (Endicott, NY) had 10 kills and three digs.

Setter Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) had a game of 43 assists, two service aces and eight digs, with the Libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) recording the top 24 defensive digs one night.

Next up for the Lady Chargers will be a CACC North Division matchup with Bloomfield College on November 2. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Bloomfield, NJ
